Am excited to be teaching this course again. BizOrgs is a subject with multiple personalities. On one hand it merely deals with a set of tools – a fairly musty set of open-ended lego-like pieces that corporate frameworks are built from. On the other hand, the frameworks built from those pieces are often massive flashpoints for the controversies of our time. From the mundane to the ridiculous, and everything in between. This course explores both the lego pieces and the governance (such as it is) of what can be built.
A couple of questions you might want to wonder about when you come to the first class:
- What would a world without companies look like?
- In today’s world, is there any viable alternative to the “corporate form”?
- How does the “Public Interest” intersect with the subject matter of the course?
See you in class.
